Um... What's This?

So... I drew a robot with a sword for a leg.
Yeah, there's really not too much to say for this drawing. I think it was a failed attempt at continuing a robot gladiator series that I drew around 2013. Obviously, the sword peg leg didn't work out so well.

An Injured Cynthian

Here is a depiction of an injured Cynthian being repaired in the owner's chambers. The robotic arm, after looking at it now, seems jumbled up and disorganized. I should have re-designed the repair arm before making it on Adobe Illustrator.
Nevertheless, this is one of my more favorite drawings of the Cynthian storyline.

Cynthians: An Artificially Intelligent Race of Robots

The Cynthians are a strain of artificially intelligent robots, manufactured by humans for the sole purpose of entertaining them through barbaric arena matches; think of it like modern bot-fighting, except the robots have legs, brains, and a whole lot more brutality.
This illustration, made on Adobe Illustrator, is a remake of an original drawing that I made. The Cynthian in blue is called "Hercules," while the red one is called "Thorazrus."

And now, a word on how a standard Cynthian match works:
The match is organized into three rounds, in which two Cynthians engage each other on an artificial battlefield using hand-wielded melee weapons. The round ends when one of the Cynthians is considered disabled, meaning that the Cynthian is completely unable to fight back. Once the round ends, both Cynthians are taken back into their owners' chambers to be repaired for the next round.
As a Cynthian progresses through the games, the rules for Cynthian matches may change according to the desires of the audience. Some Cynthian matches are held underwater or in a space vacuum, while sometimes the Cynthians team up to defeat a single, much more powerful champion Cynthian.

The Strider: A Light and Effective Spider Tank

This was another potential vehicle I had considered for the K.U.G. universe. The large rear leg helps with the recoil from the dual cannons (though I can't think of what ammunition those tiny barrels would use, other than lasers, that would cause major damage to a target).
I have also attempted to imagine how the strike tank moves, but the strange design of the legs makes it difficult to do so. All in all, I like the strider's design, and I've printed the illustration on a T-Shirt.

The Storm (New)

This is my most current version of Storm. He looks less like Bane... sort of.
I wanted to keep the skull mouth and intimidating appearance of the original Storm, while still making it not look like Bane. This was, of course, difficult to master, and required multiple different sketches and ideas before this final version was chosen.

The Storm

This is an older design of one of the main characters of a story I've made. The actual story is rather complex, and the character's appearance and name needs to be changed, anyway. Anyone who looks at this drawing tells me it looks like Bane (which always gets me agitated), and the character's name "Storm," of course, is the name of a character from the X-Men. Welp, looks like all the cool hero appearances and names were already taken.
This was made on Adobe Illustrator.

Yet Another K.U.G. Spider Artillery Vehicle

Another drawing of the KUG Spider Artillery Vehicle. I like the shading on this one, but I drew the machine incorrectly, so that if this vehicle were manufactured in the way it was illustrated, you would have to sit with your feet on the seat, because there would be no gap to place your legs in.
Also, before I fully developed the history and symbol of the what-is-now-called KUG, I used the red-white-blue shield symbol that can be seen on the vehicle's seat and side of the cannon. Little did I know that that was the design (the colored stripes, anyway) of the Netherlands flag, and since then the symbol has been changed.

K.U.G. Spider Artillery

There is a series of drawings related to an alien race known as "stecs" that I posted a long time ago. These aliens are a part of a universe that I've decided to call "N.E." (for "New Era"), for now.
Part of the universe consists of a race of humans on a planet in another galaxy (in my first writings about the humans, the setting was on earth, in the future; however, having watched superhero movies where the setting is earth, I've found that it's better station humans on a foreign planet, to avoid people having a realistic perspective on situations, and also to prevent having to micro-detail places, buildings, governments, etc.). For the sake of keeping to the description of the drawing itself, I will summarize that the humans during the New Era had a single government known as the K.U.G. ("Kaff United Government"; Kaff is the name of the planet), and this is one of their machines.
This spider vehicle is a light, mobile artillery unit. The multiple legs allow quick movement while managing rugged terrain; and the rotary base allows for quick rotation of the cannon, acting like the top of a tank. Looking back on this drawing, I wonder if I should have placed the cooling grill (located on third piece of the cannon's barrel) so that it was facing upwards instead of down.

I'm Back!

I'm back!
It took me three years, but I'm back. And with three years of drawing, there tends to be a lot to share from my experience.
For example: I've been tinkering with Adobe Illustrator for some time, now, and I've gotten used to digitizing my artwork. I've also placed most of it on my Wix web site (the link is drogonan56.wixsite.com/david-vance).

I think that I will use the same blogging format that I used three years ago: show a picture and summarize it, below!

(Made on Adobe Illustrator) The Chaos Bringer is a story one of my friends wrote and asked me to design a character for.
During a future not very far from the present, strange alien objects begin to crash onto the surface of earth. Some are weapons; others tools.
One of these weapons is called "The Chaos Bringer". It is a mace-like tool, where instead of a spiked metal ball, there is a strange, glowing cube. The energy-line that acts like the chain of the mace has a virtually infinite stretching range, allowing the cube to be flung great distances, dealing massive damage to a target, and then being returned immediately after. The Chaos Bringer can also be transformed into a war hammer; the energy rope becomes condensed and hardens, and the cube changes shape into a large, rectangular version of itself. The war hammer can be flung into the ground, causing massive earthquakes and changing shape of any terrain in its radius.
The downside to this powerful weapon? Well, the Chaos Bringer has a psychological link to its wielder. And the Chaos Bringer has a mind of its own. Within time, a person's mind can be completely connected to the Chaos Bringer, and the person's memories can even be transmitted to the mind of the next person to use it.
The character in the picture is the second person to have used the Chaos Bringer; the first person, in short, had gone power-crazy, and his insane and destructive thoughts took over the mind of the next user of the strange alien cube.
